This morning I woke up wanting to try the Acai (ah-sigh-ee) bowl. After hearing about its many health benefits I definitely wanted to get it in my system. So I had no idea what I was walking into, however I must say this bowl filled with so many flavorful taste was exactly what I needed to get my day underway. So the “healthy fast food” (I know an oxymoron) place I went to was Bryn & Dane’s and they have an assortment of great eats. What I didn’t know was they would serve Acai at their establishment, so I was pretty excited to try it. In their bowl, you get to pick three different fruits you want so I picked strawberries, bananas and pineapples – such a great choice might I add. Then I got to add flax-seed, cinnamon and raisins lastly I topped it with a drizzle of organic agave nectar. I don’t know why but I seem to favorite agave over honey. (Maybe I should do a blog on their comparisons and differences). Once that was all said and done, I felt like I was eating a healthy bowl of ice cream. I know how is that even possible? But what I will say is while I was enjoying this nice cold breakfast treat I was thinking the entire time if I could find Acai berries in Whole Foods.

I also read you may be able to find Acai puree in the frozen food section of health food stores, so that may be something I will keep in mind. Another thing I did notice after I was done eating my Acai bowl was my teeth needed to be brushed again from all the berry seeds that got stuck into my teeth. However don’t let that deter you from trying it as it is worth brushing your teeth again.
